Advanced Life Support: A First for Rural Montana In 2024, DMHA took a monumental step forward by upgrading our EMS system to Limited Advanced Life Support (ALS). This upgrade equips our team to provide advanced medications, perform life-saving procedures, and deliver care typically unavailable in rural settings. The impact of this was confirmed during a September 2024 inspection, which revealed that DMHA’s EMS system carries more medications and advanced interventions than any other rural EMS system in the state.
